For the Claude Chappe elementary school, the City of Chambray-lès-Tours entrusted ATEMCO with the installation of a 286 m² modular school building comprising 11 new Unigalow-type units and 2 repurposed existing modules—specifically Classroom No. 4, relocated and integrated into the new structure.
The single-story complex complies with current thermal regulations and Category 5 Type R ERP standards (public-access buildings). The lacquered galvanized steel frame is finished with cladding and a raised parapet wall, giving the building the appearance of a permanent traditional build.
Construction took place during the summer of 2023: masonry in June, cladding in July, pre-handover inspections in early August, and final handover on August 25, 2023. The school was officially inaugurated on September 8, 2023, just days after the start of the new school year. Designed for the everyday needs of pupils, teachers, and technical staff, the layout prioritizes intuitive circulation, operational comfort, and durable equipment.
Off-site factory prefabrication guarantees high-precision build quality while significantly minimizing on-site intervention time.
